Important Course Information

Basic Rider Course

We offer classes that can be completed in 5 weeknights (Monday-Friday 5:30-9pm), 4 weekday mornings(Monday-Thursday 8am-Noon)/afternoons(Monday-Thursday 1pm-5pm), 2 weekdays(Monday & Tuesday 8am-5pm or Wednesday & Thursday 8am-5pm) or 1 weekend (Saturday & Sunday 8am-5pm). The Basic Rider Course covers the fundamentals for developing safe and responsible motorcycle riding skills. Classroom sessions will coach ways to minimize risk as well as handle specific riding situations. Range sessions will initially coach you on motor skills of control, including: straight line riding, stopping, turning, and shifting. You then move on the more advanced skills of stopping quickly, cornering and swerving. Our smaller classes focus more to one on one attention and give more riding time and less waiting.

Basic Rider Course (BRC) Fees

Course Fees are $340 per student. (Discounts are available for multiple bookings for the same session. Gift certificates are also available.) You do not need to have your own motorcycle for this course as we provide motorcycles for you or if you wish, you may use your cycle (with proof of insurance).

Student Information

You must be at least 16 years of age, hold a valid driver's license. Prior to entering this course, you should be able to balance a bicycle, having experience in driving a standard shift automobile can also be helpful but is not necessary.

Appropriate riding gear is required for participation in the range exercises. You will need the following functional riding gear: Over-the-ankle footwear (heels not to be over 1") Long, sturdy non-flare pants Long-sleeved shirt or jacket Full-fingered gloves Eye protection and DOT approved helmet.

Other Helpful Information

Because we do hold the range portion of our course during all kinds of weather,please bring appropriate rain gear. We will only post-pone classes during threatening weather; lightening, heavy snow, high winds, etc. The school will not refund any tuition or part of tuition if the school is ready, willing and able to fulfill its part of the agreement.

Incentives

All students who successfully complete the BRC are exempt from taking the Wisconsin State required road skills test. Many insurance companies offer premium discounts to Rider Course graduates. Discounts can range from 5% to as much as 20%! Check with your insurance agent
